The Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Gramoz Ruci, is attending this Thursday at the Summit of Parliaments Speakers of Central and Eastern Europe in Warsaw, as well as at the celebration of the 550th anniversary of Parliament in Poland, on 12-13 July.
He was invited by the Senate Speaker and the Speaker of the Polish Parliament, and was accompanied by the head of the Parliamentary Group of Socialist Party (SP), Taulant Balla.
During his speech, Ruci noted that Central and Eastern Europe is one of the most important economic and political areas of the globe.
"Central and Eastern Europe is one of the most important economic and political areas of the globe and a cultural treasure of mankind, which we, its inhabitants, must preserve and enrich. Over the last three decades, in addition to the wave of democratization, our countries have been involved in the processes of modernization, Westernization and Europeanization. Despite the differences between them, they converge in a prime direction, European values. Our bilateral and regional cooperation should have as the polar star the European Union as a union of values, aspirations, visions and European citizens," said Ruci.
He thanked the State Parliaments of the European Union for the support they gave to their governments to stand pro for the opening of accession negotiations with Albania.
