The President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, in the framework of the World Blood Donor Day, praised the volunteers and directors of the Albanian Red Cross for their solidarity and dedication by visiting their tent set up in 'Rinia' park. He declared there that within July the National Alliance of Blood Donors will be formalized so that there is no longer absence of blood.
"It is a great pleasure to be here today, with the young volunteers and leaders of the Albanian Red Cross, on this important Day, in this demonstration of solidarity of many citizens, many young people who donate blood to save lives, to save our fellow citizens, who have constant or unexpected needs," said Meta.
President enhanced the necessity of engagement in voluntary blood donation and warned that within June, the National Alliance of Blood Donors will be formalized for this purpose.
"Especially in the summer, it is very important that this voluntary donation is increased by all, so that we do not have lack of blood. I would like to inform you that I will be a regular member of voluntary blood donors and that within June we will formalize the National Blood Donor Alliance, which will be a comprehensive forum that I will lead, together with representatives of many institutions, organizations and personalities in the field of health, in order to quickly resolve this issue in a very fast manner and to have a clear demonstration of the humanity we have as people and a nation that has produced an extraordinary figure of humanity, who has been given love and care all over the world, Mother Teresa," Meta said.
