The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, during a visit to Sweden this Wednesday, took part in a conference organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), where he said that after the funding from this institution, Tirana is ready for the second investment package.
According to him, this funding will double Bovilla's capacity as well as build a new pipeline for drinking water in the "Unaza e Re" area.
"We have launched the first phase of investments with EBRD, which translates into duplication of Bovilla's capacity, as well as the deployment of transmission lines from Bovilla to Astir, "Unaza e Re", which were the most problematic areas of Tirana, mainly supplied with well water, but which have now grown enormously in the population. We are ready to propose a second package for UKT. Our ambition is that within five years, from the beginning of these investments, we have water 24 hours in Tirana," said Veliaj.
He added that if it will be with this pace for the city transformation, there will not miss the funding from important institutions, which see Tirana Municipality as a reliable partner.
