Bushati in New York: USA Contribution Vital for Good Neighbor Policy in Balkans

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati is in New York in the framework of a summit at the United Nations General Assembly focusing on Peacemaking and Peace-building worldwide.
During his stay in New York Bushati is reported to have held a lecture at the Columbia University addressing a wide range of professors, students and shcolars as well as Balkan-related-issues experts, focusing on the inclusion of bilateral relations, consolidation of rule of law, economic development and the role of third powers.
He highlighted the excellent cooperation with the USA on a strategic level, whose contribution is important for consistent development and good neighbor policy in the Balkan region.
Minister Bushati also met UNPD Administrator Achin Steiner as the two praised the contribution UNPD is giving in some of the most key reforms in Albania.
Minister Bushati valued the contribution this body is giving in the framework of the 2030 agenda on sustainable development objectives. As an vanguard country in the Balkans, Albania shall present a voluntary report of the Sustainable Development Objectives at UN which shall be closely interconnected to the global strategy of development with the priorities of our country in the framework of EU membership, albaniannews learned on Tuesday.
