Arrested Kukes Protesters Seek Release

The 11 Kukes protesters who were imprisoned for violent acts during the protest against Nation's Road toll fee submitted the appeal against the decision by the Magistrate's Court via the Court of Appeals, through which, they requested the removal of the imprisonment measure which was given to them last week.
Measures for the protesters are expected to be reviewed next week at the Court of Appeals in Shkodra, as the court with the jurisdiction to review cases from the Magistrate's Court of Kukes.
Prison sentence was pronounced in early April for 11 out of the 23 detainees, house arrest for 2 of them, while 10 of the detainees were let free under the obligation to appear in court.
