Over 40 Countries Participate in Dance and Food Festival at the American University in Bulgaria

Young people from over 40 countries, including Albania, will present food and dances that are specific for their homelands during the International Dance and Food Festival at the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG). The event is open to external guests and will be held on February 17, Saturday, at 6:30 pm Bulgarian time (CET+1) at the America for Bulgaria Student Center, AUBG campus in Blagoevgrad. Students will cook, dance, taste food along with the audience, share their culture, and have fun.
The Taste Fest is the culmination of the International Week, which is organized for the 20th consecutive year and will be held on February 12-17, 2018 at the American University in Bulgaria. The International Week has already become a tradition for the university and is dedicated to diversity and tolerance. In this way the AUBG community celebrates its diversity and allows students from over 40 countries to present their homelands. During the International Week young people break stereotypes and prove that human values and aspirations are valid everywhere throughout the world regardless of which country one comes from.
The event will gather once again over 200 students, teachers and guests. Each year the honorable society of Phi Beta Delta organizes attractive program which allows all students and the local community to get familiar with culture and traditions of all countries represented at the university.
As part of the entertainment agenda during the International Week, demonstrations of country-specific games and crafts will be held (Tuesday), challenges such as ‘Try Not To Laugh’ (Thursday) and ‘ AUBG’s Got Talent’ (Friday) and even a lecture on ‘ Cultural Shock at the Workplace’ is planned to prepare students for working in an international environment.
