Over 900 fines were imposed on drivers in Tirana during the last 48 hours due to various violation of the Road Code.

A blitz raid conducted by the Road Police under the motto “Alcohol and Speed claim lives’ led to the punishment of a huge number of drivers for all kinds of violations.

The police reported that some 10 drivers were arrested in flagrance while driving under the effects of alcohol. Meantime 47 driving permits were revoked to drivers that exceeded the speed limits in urban areas.

Many drivers were fined after being noticed by the police officers while using the phone in the car, driving without fastening the seatbelt, and non-observation of the red light.

Tirana Road Police informs the citizens that similar raids will be repeatedly conducted thus urges them to drive with caution and respect the speed limits.
