The 12 Commissioners of Qualification Commission, part of the vetting bodies, are not paid for the overtime work. Albaniannews.com learned that they asked from Ministry of Finances for a financial compensation for 5 hours of work beyond official time-table by their request was rejected.

The commissioners’ working-day starts at 08:00 AM but never ends at 16:30. They always leave their offices around 21:00.

Earlier Prime Minister Edi Rama promised that the government would financially reward the difficult work of vetting bodies’ staff by so far this promise has not been realized.

“We will not spare government resources for such an important process as the vetting,” declared PM Rama.
When the vetting bodies members were filing their applications, the promised salary was ALL 600.000 ALL per month, but when the budget 2018 was adopted it was reduced to ALL 280.000 per month, a move which made the opposition accuse the majority of depriving commissioners of necessary financial sources.
