President Meta: Rexhep Celiku's Death, Irreplaceable Loss

President of the Republic, Ilir Meta defines the death Albanian dances master, Rexhep Çeliku as a irreplaceable loss. In a public message of condolences extended on Friday to his relatives the Head of State expressed his deep sorrow for the death of this emblem of Albanian dances.

“I felt deeply sorry for the death of Rexhep Çeliku, the emblem of Albanian dances and cultural tradition, the great master of the Folk Dances and Songs Ensemble, the noble man that serves as inspiration for many generations of new artists. My most heartfelt condolences go to his family, relatives and colleagues,” wrote President Meta is his message of condolences.

Rexhep Çeliku died on Friday morning at age of 63 due to a grave illness. He was the first soloist of Albanian Folk Song and Dances Ensemble. Only a few days ago the Head of State Ilir Meta awarded to him and his partner on stage, the dancer Lili Cingu the ‘Nation’s Honor’ medal for their great contribution to the Albanian folk.
