Kosovo's newly elected Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has canceled a visit to the U.S. because he was unable to get a visa. Local media in the capital Pristina reported that the U.S. Embassy had denied the visa request. Haradinaj was supposed to attend events organized by the National Guard’s commanding officer in the state.

The office of Kosovo Prime Minister reacts over this decision. Through a public declaration on Tuesday the Premier’s office informed that this decision of the US Embassy, was not related to any political motive but only to a delayed application.

"The chief of Kosovo executive is undergoing a procedure that involves every citizen applying for a US visas and has been an active member of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). This procedure is carried on just one time, when the former KLA member applies for the first time for a US visas and then he undergoes a normal process like everyone else," Haradinaj’s office reported.
