Bulgarian-Greek Triumph in TIFF 15th Edition

The 15th edition of Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF) was finalized with a special evening organized in ‘Agimi’ cinema. A series of awards for the Best Movies in different categories were given during this ceremony.

The festival’s trophy was given to “Glory”, a Greek-Bulgarian movie co-directed by Christina Grozeva and Peter Valchanov. “Glory” brings on screen a social-realistic story that explores corruption, class distinctions and rural-urban divisions in the contemporaneous Bulgarian society. This movie won the prize awarded by the festival’s jury.

The Best Director award was given to Gentian Koçi for his “Daybreak” movie while “In Albanian” won the prize of Best Short Movie.

“On the Edge of Life” Syrian documentary, directed by Yaser Kasaab, which presents the audience with a personal touch of pain and displacement in a pending existence.

The Kosovan director Edon Rizvanolli won a prize for The Best Script with his movie “Unwanted”.

Over 250 movies were screened during TIFF’s15th edition that raised the curtains on November 3.
