Kujtim Miri, the cousin of Court of Appeal Judge Shkelqim Miri, arrested on grounds of active corruption will remain in prison. The remand in prison security measure issued on Monday by Court of Serious Crimes for judge’s cousin was based on suspicions that he played the role of middleman between the judge and Gentian Doda relatives, a man accused of dual murder.

The prosecutors argued that Kujtim Miri was recorded on camera in a coffee-shop in proximity of Fushe-Kruja while receiving a huge sum of money as bribe for the judge in exchange for the change of charge for Doda from dual murder to serious injury.

A sum of ALL 30 Million was seized by the police in the house of Judge Shkelqim Miri during a minute inspection that followed his arrest a few days ago.
