Nation's Honor Order Awarded to National Ensemble

The Nation's Honor title was awarded to the Albanian National Songs and Dances Ensemble by the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta. This honorific title was awarded to this ensemble in occasion of the 6oth anniversary for valuable contributions and excellent interpretations in more than half a century, having an extraordinary, sensible, and inalienable impact on artistic and cultural development throughout the country. The ensemble has also played the role of ambassador of culture outside of Albania conveying some of the most important values of Albanian folklore and cultural spiritual heritage all over the world.
“The Albanian Folk is an inestimable asset of our nation. He is always distinguished even outside the country’s borders thanks to its originality, antiquity and variety of artistic genres. This ensemble has elaborated and executed with high quality artistic and musical the traditional motives which are faithfully transmitted from generation to generation,” said President Meta in his brief greeting speech.
The Nation’s Honor title was also awarded by the Head of State to the renowned dancer and master of the Albanian folk dance, Besim Zekthi as a token of appreciation for the many years of contribution as soloist with high level of interpretation and special artistic mastery of the Albanian dance; for enriching the fund of choreographic creativity and passing it to the generations of young artists, as well as for the worthy promotion of the genuine values of Albania’s cultural heritage abroad.
