Former-MP Eduard Ndocaj 'Detained' in Fraud Inquiry

The former-MP Eduard Ndocaj was detained on Tuesday evening in Durresi harbor on grounds of fraud. He had been declared wanted due to a fraud inquiry, the police reported. Ndocaj was immediately escorted to the Lezha police station and was then released after more than 12 hours.

He will now be inquired on grounds of fraud toward an Italian citizen. The latest claims that Ndocaj stole to him a large sum of money through deception.

Meantime Ndocajís lawyer declared that his client had not been arrested but had become subject to verification by the police as any other citizen. He also defined as totally non-professional and unjustified the State Police actions on view of the fact that all verification on the fate of this inquiry conducted by Kukes prosecution could had been done electronically.
