Agon Mehmeti Moves to England

Former Albanian National Team player, striker Agon Mehmeti will be part of the English team of Oxford United. The 27-year-old ended a difficult experience with the Turkish team of Genclerbirligi and now aims to regain his top shape in the England’s First League.

Mehmeti was a freelance player while coach Pep Clotet with whom he collaborated in 2010 while playing for the Swedish team of Malmoe. The deal has been already concluded and the player has already been presented to the media as the team’s latest acquisition.

“I am very happy to have reached the deal with this club. I know the coach Clotet since many years, thus this was a very easy decision for me,” said Mehmeti, addressing to the journalists.

Mehmeti was born in Podujevo but his career started in the ranks of Malmoe while he also played three matches with Albanian National Team. He was also part of teams like Palermo, Novara, Olhanensen and Stabaek.
