Hotels Booking, Durres 'Season's Cinderella'

The coastal city of Durres may be defined without any shadow of doubt as the ‘Cinderella’ of tourism in Albania this year. This conclusion is based on a recent survey conducted by the Research Center Monitor (RCM) focused on hotels booking during summer season.

This survey, which took place in the second half of July and included 110 randomly selected hotels along the entire coastal line from Saranda to Velipoja indicated that 42% of the 34 hotels in Durres were nearly completely booked during this period of time.

Many hotels in Durres had been booked by Polish citizens on view of the fact that tourist agencies purchased in advance the rooms since last December.

Meantime Vlora and Saranda are experiencing bookings decrease. The hotels low capacity remains a problem while 93% of the tourist premises have less than 50 rooms.
