Croatia’s High Court sends back to the Court of First Instance for review the Ismail Morina extradition to Serbia case. His case will be reviewed by the same Court of First Instance which three weeks ago ruled in favor of Morina’s extradition to Serbia.

Meantime Morina’s lawyer declared a few days ago that his client is seeking political asylum in Croatia to avoid extradition.

Ismail Morina, also known as Ballist Morina, is accused of flying a drone carrying a flag of Greater Albania during a football match in Belgrade in 2014. Croatian police in Dubrovnik detained him in June, acting on a Serbian arrest warrant, while he was heading to Italy where he has lived for years with his family. The Albanian Football Federation (AFF) and the Albanian authorities immediately appealed to the Croatian authorities to stop his extradition to Serbia.
