Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted on Thursday over the numerous wildfires in the entire territory. The Premier admitted that the situation remains difficult despite the colossal efforts by the state structures.

“Maximal efforts are being done to control and extinguish the fires that have engulfed large part of the territory. Some 8261 firefighters and army’s troops supported by over 973 firefighting vehicles and 5 helicopters are battling with the flames. On the other side there’s no doubt that our capacities to cope with this serious threat are relatively low. These capacities increase during the next 4-years will be among the government’s priorities,” said the chief of executive.

Meantime he warned that this difficult situation is expected to continue even during the next days due to the presence of an extreme heat wave.
