'EUR 590 Million Damages Caused by Public Administration'

Supreme State Audit (SSA) reported EUR 590 million worth of damages caused by the public administration to the State Budget during a 6-month period of time. This giant figure was ascertained by audit reports, conducted during the first semester by SSA audit groups.
According to a recently published the report focused on the second quarter of the activity of this institution, irregularities and financial violations in the incomes and expenditures which caused an economic damage of ALL 1.9 billion, the equivalent of EUR 14.4 million were ascertained by the experts.
Likewise, the financial discipline was negatively affected by the performance of the audited entities, totaling ALL 76.4 billion, approximately EUR 576 million, of which: EUR 564 million in the incomes area and EUR 11.5 million in the expenditures area.
