Lulzim Basha Re-Elected as DP Chair

It’s official. Lulzim Basha has been re-elected as the Democratic Party (DP) chair for another 4-years. He won with large majority of votes against his rival in this electoral race, Eduard Selami, firmly confirming his position.

Basha gained 53931 votes from a total of 73 ballot boxes, or 48795 votes more than Selami. Some 59834 Democrats voted one day ago for the party’s new chair. A total of 767 ballot papers resulted null while 61 were considered as damaged at the end of counting process that was carried on in the DP headquarters.

Lulzim Basha’s reconfirmation as party’s leader comes in a moment when critical voices against him within DP have joined forces creating an ‘Anti-Basha’ group. Earlier the appealed to the newly elected leader to step back from the electoral process considering it a farce.
