The match between Spain and Albania, part of qualifying rounds for the World Cup ‘Russia 2018’, that will take place on October 6, will be played in Alicante, a city situated in the south-eastern part of the country. The negotiations between the Spanish Football Federation (SFF) and the ‘Rico Perez’ stadium directors have been successfully completed and everything is now official.

This stadium, whose capacity is up to 30.000 viewers, welcomes Alikante’s team ‘Hercules’ matches. Spain returns in this stadium after a two-year absence following a friendly match against England played here in 2015 that ended with 2-0 score in favor of the Iberian team.

This challenge will be decisive for the fate of both teams, on view of the fact that Spain aims qualification while Albania the third place in this group. The 2nd option for this match, the Melila city in Africa, currently under Spanish patronage, was quickly rejected by the pairs.
