The internationally known soprano Ermonela Jaho was among the personalities that were recently awarded the honorific title “Nation’s Honor” by the President of the Republic, Bujar Nishani. This title was awarded to Jaho for the great contribution given during many years to the opera music in Albania.

The soprano was unable to personally attend the ceremony, thus chose to express her immense joy for this appreciation through her official site.

“While asking for forgiveness for not being physically present in this ceremony I want to say thank you to President Bujar Nishani for this great honor. Every Albanian artist that lives and works abroad represents the nation. I dedicate this marvelous title to my wonderful parents that embodied in me the true values of life. Thank you again for this token of appreciation,” wrote Jaho.

The known soprano international performances are expected to continue with the performance as protagonist of ‘Madame Butterfly’ in Madrid on June 30, an opera that will be broadcasted live through the country.
