Kastriot Piroli, the candidate for MP in Socialist Party (SP) list in Lezha district, which was expected to replace Armando Prenga that relinquished his mandate, stepped down clearing the path to the next candidate in the list of Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI).

According to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) decision the candidate Piroli resignation is due to the short period of time remaining until parliament’s mandate ending due to the June 18 parliamentary elections.

SP had no more representatives in the Lezha district list, thus Prenga’s mandate will go to SMI, whose parliamentary group gains another MP. Petrit Gjoni becomes the 19th member of this political force group.
