72th World Folklore Festival, Lezha Represents Albania

Lezha
represented Albania in the 72th World Folklore Festival “Mandorle in Fiore” that
took place in Agrigento, Italy. A group composed by 29 artists of different
genres like folk instrumentalists, musicians and singers from the north and
south of the country, under the direction of Lezha Culture Palace, Albana
Pervathi performed in this festival unfolding with great dignity the Albanian
folk and costumes.


This
festival organized by UNESCO promotes the intangible assets value, deemed as
humanity’s heritage. Beside the instrumental folk, the traditional dances and costumes
from throughout the country, Albania was presented also with its polyphony, the
most ancient form of musical expression in Europe, proclaimed since 2008 as one
of the oral masterpieces of humanity’s heritage.


The
presentation of different cultures from all over the world remains the
undisputed value of the annual festival of Agrigento, where Albania has a place
of honor.
