Ethnic tension in Macedonia increased further on Friday when some unidentified individuals erased a number of road-signs written in Albanian language.

Preliminary examination raised suspicions that the violators may be activists of VMRO-DPMNE, due to the fact that this political force name was written in most of the damaged road-signs.

The Ministry of Interior Affairs immediately opened an inquiry aiming the identification and capture of the authors of this vile act. Road-signs violation follows the recent protests against the Albanian language and its use as 2nd official language in Macedonia.
