JAP, High Council of Justice Rejects Xhafaj Claims

High Council of Justice (HCJ) rejected on Friday the claims of Legal Issues Committee chair, Fatmir Xhafaj in relation to the draw for the selection of Judicial Appointments Council members. 

HCJ argued that the draw was carried on in compliance with the law, while the list was prepared in complete transparency and all 128 judges’ personal data became subject to verification.

In a letter addressed to the President of the Republic, Bujar Nishani HCJ stressed that the list was submitted to the Parliament in accordance to the Constitution. On the other side this institution underlines that the lack of institutional respect objects reforms implementation. HCJ declared that its activity is entirely based on transparency and is fully in accordance with the law.
