The leader of Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu summoned a meeting of party's structures on Friday ahead of the forewarned protest by the opposition on February 18. In his speech Mediu underlined that free and fair elections are the opposition's main objective, adding that this process should realized even through technical executive.
"We should join forces for an organized political action against the left wing executive which has plunged the country into a spiral of corruption and criminality, giving the power to the gangs and kicking off the citizens. We should seek and implement an electoral reform that will guarantee a fair electoral process, restore citizens' trust on the free vote, prevent vote's trafficking and election's capture by the organized crime," said Mediu.
Speaking over the opposition's protest he expressed the certitude that this will be a coordinated action between right wing parties and the citizens.
"The society is not destroyed by the people's action but the indifference of decent men. I call on every citizen to take the reins of their fate by joining February 18 protest," said Mediu.
